God told Moses to speak toa specific rockand He would send water, but Moses lost his temper with the people and struck the rock twice (Numbers 20). and he read the Ten Commandments to them again (Deuteronomy 5). She saw that he was a special baby and kept him hidden for three months. 34:7 And Moses [was] an hundred and twenty years old when he died: his eye was not dim, nor his natural force abated.34:8 And the children of Israel wept for Moses in the plains of Moab thirty days: so the days of weeping [and] mourning for Moses were ended.34:9 And Joshua the son of Nun was full of the spirit of wisdom; for Moses had laid his hands upon him: and the children of Israel hearkened unto him, and did as the LORD commanded Moses.34:10 And there arose not a prophet since in Israel like unto Moses, whom the LORD knew face to face,34:11 In all the signs and the wonders, which the LORD sent him to do in the land of Egypt to Pharaoh, and to all his servants, and to all his land,34:12 And in all that mighty hand, and in all the great terror which Moses showed in the sight of all Israel. God reassured Moses that in the future he and the Hebrews would worship at this mountain. In the New Testament's book of Jude we are told that the Lord took Moses' body after he died (Jude 1:9). The Bible says that Moses became the meekest man on earth (Numbers 12:3). 10:1 At that time the LORD said unto me, Hew thee two tables of stone like unto the first, and come up unto me into the mount, and make thee an ark of wood.10:2 And I will write on the tables the words that were in the first tables which thou brakest, and thou shalt put them in the ark.10:3 And I made an ark [of] shittim wood, and hewed two tables of stone like unto the first, and went up into the mount, having the two tables in mine hand.10:4 And he wrote on the tables, according to the first writing, the ten commandments, which the LORD spake unto you in the mount out of the midst of the fire in the day of the assembly: and the LORD gave them unto me.10:5 And I turned myself and came down from the mount, and put the tables in the ark which I had made; and there they be, as the LORD commanded me. . Unfortunately, the Bible does not specify the part of Midian in which Moses resided. The flush of victory pulled Moses back the next day. And Moses was fourscore years old, and Aaron fourscore and three years old, when they spoke to Pharaoh. Moses Leaves for Egypt 18 Then Moses went back to his father-in-law Jethro and said to him, "Please let me return to my brothers in Egypt to see if they are still alive." "Go in peace," Jethro replied. have not I the LORD?4:12 Now therefore go, and I will be with thy mouth, and teach thee what thou shalt say.4:13 And he said, O my Lord, send, I pray thee, by the hand [of him whom] thou wilt send.4:14 And the anger of the LORD was kindled against Moses, and he said, [Is] not Aaron the Levite thy brother? English Standard Version At this retort Moses fled and became an exile in the land of Midian, where he became the father of two sons. He now had a wife and two sons. Inasmuch as tradition figured about 12 generations from Moses to Solomon, the reference to 480 years is most likely an editorial comment allowing 40 years for each generation. What's the difference between Justice, Mercy, and Grace? God gave Moses specific directions on what to do and say. Moses married Zipporah(Jethro's daughter)and together they had two sons. According to rabbinic tradition, he was immensely handsome 2 and powerful, 3 and his countenance was like that of an angel. God needed to teach Moses patience and trust. When he found an Egyptian taskmaster beating a Hebrew, probably to death, he could control his sense of justice no longer. When Moses was about 40he saw one of his own people being beaten, andhe tried to take things into his own hands. All 12 tell how good the land is, but 10 say that it is stronger than the Israelites can take. It's not that surprising .
